Prayer Vigil at Circo Massimo

The Vigil will begin at 9:00 pm, ending at 10:30pm.
The preparations for the Vigil will begin at 8:00pm.
The Vigil is being organized by the Diocese of Rome, in which the Venerable Servant of God presided as Bishop. The Vigil will be presided by the Vicar Cardinal Agostino Vallani.
The Holy Father Benedict XVI will be united spiritually through a video transmission from the Papal household.

1st of May
Celebration of the Beatification in St. Peter's Square
The celebration will begin at 10:00 am and will be presided by the Holy Father Benedict XVI.
Participation in the ceremony will not be regulated by the use of individual tickets, however, all access into the Piazza and the surrounding areas will be controlled by Public Security.

Veneration of the Remains of the New Blessed
After the ceremony of beatification the remains of the newly Beatified Pope will be exposed for public veneration in the Basilica of St. Peter, in front of the Altar of the Confession.
The veneration will continue until the flow of pilgrims has ceased.

2nd of May
Holy Mass of Thanksgiving in St. Peter's Square
The Holy Mass will begin at 10:30am, and will be presided by the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone.
